Early EXPLORE & ACT Testing
Each fall, several Douglas Elementary and Saugatuck Middle School students are identified to participate in the Northwestern University Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS). This identification is based on meeting at least one of the following criteria:
MEAP Test Score (Level 1)
Nationally-normed Achievement Test Score (95% ile or >)
Past Talent Search Participation
Qualifying for a school gifted program
Nomination by a parent or teacher
Students who are recommend by the District Curriculum and G/T Coordinator to take the test are given a letter in late September with registration instructions. If you believe your child would benefit from taking this test but did not receive a letter, you may register using the instructions below.
