Special Education Services
A full range of special education programs and services are available to all Saugatuck Public School students with disabilities through an Individualized Educational Planning (IEP) process as defined by the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Individualized Education Plans are effectively and successfully implemented through the programs and services provided in our schools. Our focus is to insure student access to the general curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
If needed, Saugatuck students may also access programs and services through neighboring school districts and the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District including those for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Severe Multiple Impairments, Moderate to Severe Cognitive Impairments, and Hearing Impairments.
Saugatuck Public Schools is dedicated to helping students with disabilities realize their maximum potential and to become valuable and contributing members of society. Parents and others are encouraged to contact Greg Rood, Director of Special Education Services, if they have questions regarding Special Education services for Saugatuck students.
For additional information on our special education services - please visit the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District website.
